By 2010 it became apparent that colleges and tutors throughout the UK were using MHD to support their teaching in the classroom, bolstered by government directives to incorporate blended e-learning in the classroom. Initially, we implemented a special pricing structure for hairdressing academies and colleges, but it soon became apparent that although the site was popular it was failing to provide a full solution.

In response we began working towards a fully mapped solution that addressed the needs of tutors and students and in 2012 we launched, which was quickly endorsed by the UK’s leading awarding body City & Guilds in January 2013. One year later we cemented our relationship with City & Guilds even further as it became the exclusive distributor of the website in the UK.

For 2015 MHDAcademy has been completely updated with new material to meet the New Occupational Standards, together with new modules covering Barbering and Curly Hair. Working closely with City & Guilds, the latest update also incorporates aspects of Smart Screen for tutors including Lesson Plans, Schemes of Work and Worksheets.

The City & Guilds blended e-learning resource is accurately mapped to the curricula and this ongoing project will continue to be rolled out to new territories. Our goal is to save educators’ time and improve students’ learning, understanding and grades by standardising and simplifying the way education is delivered.

For work-based learners and their employers, allows employers to standardise their delivery of foundation techniques to those taught within the college or learning provider environment and supplement their college time with home-based study to develop strong foundation skills and help learners maintain employment or progress to courses leading to higher-level qualifications.

Hundreds of colleges and academies throughout the UK are using MHDAcademy to deliver education to thousands of students. Internationally the product is growing and is now available under exclusive license to government education agencies, independent academy chains and International City & Guilds Approved Centres.

MHD Productions is seeking Government agencies, educational bodies and education providers to replicate the success of the UK and raise the standards of hairdressing and hairdressing education at entry level.
